Frequently Asked Questions

How much sewing experience do I need for this workshop?
This workshop is designed for the beginner sewist who is ready to tackle an intermediate sewing project. You don't need any prior jeans sewing experience but you do need to know how to operate and sewing machine and a serger.
What kind of equipment will I need for this class?
You'll need a sewing machine and serger. A hammer and jeweler's bench makes installing buttons and rivets a breeze. Otherwise, you'll need the standard sewing supplies: scissors, measuring tape, tailor's chalk, etc.
What method is used for creating the jeans sewing pattern?
Allie's method for replicating your favorite jeans is a result of many hours of research and experimentation. After being frustrated with the complexity and inaccuracy of the rub-off method, she designed a process that requires you to cut apart your inspiration jeans. But it will be worth it! We'll be able to achieve a nearly identical fit to your favorite jeans.
